Whole mung dahl is available in most health food stores, but the green husk has both ruksha and kara gunas (rough and hard). These gunas increase vata in the system and make the bean harder to digest.

Rinse, then boil these lentils in water for 30 to 40 minutes with Soma Salt and your favorite cooking masala: Mum's Masala, Pitta Masala, Shroto Shruti Masala or Spicy Mum's Super-Spice
