According to the ancient Sanskrit texts, the main prabhava (property) of Ashwaghanda is balya, meaning that it gives bala (strength). However, these capsules are tridoshic, and are great specially for high pitta people. 

As to Ashoka, Vaidya Mishra's father - Vaidya Kameshwar Mishra - was well versed in using Ashoka through different delivery systems, and one unexpected key ingredient he added to his Ashoka formulas were rose petals. He added rose petals to further support and magnify the healing and balancing properties of Ashoka. The aromatic principle of rose petals, along with their similar cooling and soothing chemical properties further help support sadhak pitta and sooth the heart and body, calming the mind. Rose and Ashoka together help for a faster and deeper relief from grief and emotional upset. But Vaidya Mishra also added more key ingredients to this formula, such as:  DGL, which is Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice, a process that removes the molecules of glycyrrhizin. Research lists the anti-inflammatory properties of licorice and its health benefits, but regular use of licorice results in many known side-effects: water-retention, high blood pressure, and irregular levels of potassium. That is why in SVA only Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice is used, as a deep pitta-pacifying ingredient for the heart, stomach, liver, and cellular system. One thing is crucial for us to keep in mind, and that is: the epicenter of pitta is the stomach, and then the liver.
