Vaidya Mishra's Knowledge Newsletter
The name, ashoka, begins with the sound, "a." In Sanskrit, this sound represents the unlimited field of energy and intelligence in nature, the field of consciousness, which is found pervading every molecule of the universe. In the same way, the sound "a" can literally be found in every other sound of the Sanskrit alphabet.
In Sanskrit, there is a deep correlation between sound and meaning. The fact that the name, ashoka, begins with the sound, "a" confirms the fact that this tree has a profound connection to the divine field of energy and intelligence in nature. It is by means of this connection that ashoka is able to remove grief from the sattwa (light of the soul).
Shoka means "grief". A - shoka means that the "a" value (the infinite energy and intelligence of nature which is lively in the ashoka tree) is able to override the small points of grief that build up in the sattwa (light of the soul) and eliminate them. When light is brought in, the problems caused by darkness (tripping over furniture and bumping into walls) instantly disappear.
Learn five other prabhavas (special qualities) of this remarkable tree in Vaidya Mishra's 26 minute audio lecture: Ashoka - Learn About A Divine Herb For Removing Grief, available for instant download for $0.99. In this lecture, you will also learn other important names and physical properties of this famous Ayurvedic herb straight from the Sanskrit verses.
It is a challenge to maintain the divine "a" quality of ashoka when it has to pass through a digestive and metabolic system that is full of toxins, as is common today. If the liver, for example, carries a high toxic load, it may be too much even for the energy of ashoka to remain intact. Sometimes even light can be covered by darkness. If the divine intelligence of this herb gets corrupted, it cannot help remove grief.
For this reason, Vaidya Mishra has developed alternative delivery systems for many of the herbs he uses. By capturing the essence of ashoka in this transdermal cream and delivering it through the skin, we are able to bypass the digestive and metabolic systems. In this way the pure vibrational energy of ashoka is maintained, and is able to reach the light of the soul where it can help to remove any grief that may be sitting there.
Ashoka Transdermal Cream is one of the creams used in Vaidya Mishra's famous Samadhi Set, a wonderful preparation for meditation. It is the "a" value of ashoka, delivered to the system without corruption that helps in any spiritual practice.
