Product Description

Bhumi amla is a yakrit rasayana. Yakrit is the word for "liver" in Sanskrit, and rasayana is anything which removes imbalances and reverses aging. A yakrit rasayana removes imbalances in the liver and makes the liver more youthful.

How does bhumi amla help the liver? The first thing you will notice about this herb is its hima virya (cold thermogenic property). Bhumi amla is cooling to the whole body, and most especially to the liver (because of the cooling, nurturing soma that it contains).

It is for this reason that bhumi amla is sometimes called bhudhatri in Sanskrit. Bhu means "earth" or even "field." Dhatri is someone who is not your mother, but who nurtures you like a mother. Vaidya Mishra's father, and teacher of Ayurveda, liked to say that bhudhatri is something that is grown in the field, but which is actually your mother.

By nature, your mother nurtures you, loves you, cools you, and stabilizes your life. In the same way, bhudhatri, though it grows in a field and is not really your mother, it nurtures, cools and stabilizes your life by taking great care of your liver.

Another role of mother is to bathe you and even scrub your fingernails when needed. A mother makes sure you get the dirt behind your ears as well. And so bhumi amla, in the role of mother for your liver, takes great care to remove any amavisha (reactive toxins) that have built up there over time.

Unlike other herbs for the liver, bhumi amla does not just detoxify the liver, it also lovingly provides nourishment to the overheated liver in the form of soma.

The combination of nourishment and detoxification make bhumi amla one of Vaidya Mishra's favorite herbs for the Western world full of hot livers.

Bhumi Amla Must Be Used With Care

In the West, and in every culture where modern life predominates, the liver faces a lot of challenges. Every synthetic chemical that you breathe, eat, drink or touch must be processed by the liver. The liver filters out the toxins and prevents them from going to the other vital organs.

Likewise, the stress of modern life, with its ever increasing demands in personal and professional life, adds a constant stream of stress hormones to the blood. These too must be filtered by the liver to protect the body from their poisonous effects.

For this reason, the average adult in the modern world has accumulated a large amount of toxins in the liver, with no regular way to remove those toxins. The modern diet does not include spices like turmeric from a young age, which causes the liver to regularly release its toxins through the gall bladder into the intestines to be removed from the body.

With lots of toxins coming into the liver and very few toxins getting out of the liver, the whole organ becomes backed-up with toxins.

If you introduce bhumi amla all of a sudden in large doses to the modern liver, it can cause a detox crisis. Bhumi amla goes about doing its job to nurture and detoxify the liver, but the rest of the body may not be able to handle the sheer volume of toxins which get squeezed out of the liver all at once. In fact, the liver was protecting the rest of the body by holding onto those toxins.

If the intestines are constipated, or too acidic, the acidic toxins exiting the liver will get backed up and reabsorbed into the blood or will cause serious burning and damage to the intestinal walls.

For this reason, Vaidya Mishra always recommends spending several months to reestablish normal bowel movements and to reestablish normal alkalinity in the intestines and the body as a whole before beginning any detox protocol. And even then, he goes very slowly. The first rule of Ayurveda is that the treatment should never cause further harm to the body.

Herbal Memory Nectar Drops Are the Safest Way to Use Bhumi Amla

Vaidya Mishra developed his Herbal Memory Nectar line of products as a way to deliver the potency of herbs like bhumi amla with the least risk of a detox crisis. The term "herbal memory" refers to the fact that the herb itself is not present in these drops. Only the subtlest memory of the herb remains, suspended in the sweet nectar of squashes.

When you use the herbal memory of bhumi amla in this way, taking only one or two drops of the formulation in one or two liters of neutral pH spring water, you get a very gentle awakening and detoxification of the liver. Only a few toxins come out of the liver, a small enough quantity that the body can handle them and get them out of the body without a detox crisis.

Of course, you still have to prepare the channels of elimination so that they can handle even this small amount of toxin from the liver. This is done under the expert guidance of a Shaka Vansya Ayurveda practitioner. To reestablish balance in the body you usually have to change your diet, your water and your routine, or whatever else may be the cause of your imbalance.

By first removing the cause of imbalance, your body will naturally begin to regain balance. When enough balance has been reestablished through good diet, water and routine then, and only then, are these drops added to the mix. When the body can handle a little more detoxification, then your Shaka Vansya Ayurveda practitioner will begin to recommend herbal formulations like this one.

In this way, you will grow steadily healthier without any dramatic detoxifications, and without the risk of doing more harm than good in the process. The last thing you want is for the toxins sequestered in your liver to end up getting reabsorbed into the blood where they may travel to damage the kidneys, brain, lungs, heart, or wherever your weakest spot may be.

Safety first is always Vaidya Mishra's motto. The long term practice of his recommendations yields excellent health and an ability to self-correct your own health long before real problems arise through good choices in daily living. This approach is not for everyone, but those who are willing to be patient gain a stability of health that cannot be had by any other means.
