“Vadi”s - pronounced “ba-ree!” A vadi is a “lentil dumpling” popular in North India. It adds a unique texture and flavor to any meal or as a stand-alone. It is light yet highly nutritious in content. Your Vadi Starter Kit contain a bag of Organic Mung Vadi-s, a Mum's Masala, a Mum's Ghee, and Soma Salt. All you will need to is to assemble, within minutes, to create a delicious nutrituous vegetarian dish. We have also added samplers of Vaidya's fruit preserves and chutneys for added healthful flavor!




Directions: Place the amount of vadi-s of your choice (1/4 cup to 1/2 cup) in a dry pan, stir and toast until color turns golden and aroma is released. Add som Mum's Ghee or the oil of your choice, add the spices of your choice (cumin seeds, ginger, curry leaves, or Mum's Masala), mix well, then add 1/2 cup water. Cook for 3-5 minutes on medium heat until your vadi-s are soft. Your vadi-s along with broth are ready to serve. You may add some fresh squeezed lime and a few sprigs of fresh cilantro. You may also add vegetables or protein to your vadi - add these just before adding the water to make the broth. If you are adding paneer, it will not need additional cooking time, however, chicken will need to be precooked or pre-steamed.



Vadi-s, with or without vegetables or protein, go great with rice or quinoa.



MUNG VADI: Mung Dahl, Turmeric, Soma Salt, Ascorbic acid and Baking Powder.


MUMS MASALA: Cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, pink pepper, white pepper, curry leaf, fenugreek, fennel, fenugreek, cinnamon bark, green cardamom, ginger, clove, soma salt, mace, saffron, kalunji, ajwain and black cardamom.

MUMS GHEE: Ghee (Clarified Butter) made according to the traditional method of the ancient Ayurvedic shastras (texts) from Organic Cow’s Cream. The cream is first cultured into cream yogurt, then churned into butter, and finally cooked until it becomes clarified. With this process, the micro-nutrients of the bacteria culture are added to the nutritional value of the ghee. The flavor is also very rich and delicious, when compared to ghee made from store-bought butter. This ghee deeply nourishes the brain and the body with its pure vibration.

SWEET ORANGE MANGO CHUTNEYOrganic Mango, Organic Sweet Orange, Organic raw sugar, natural Ascorbic acid.

GARCINIA CHUTNEY: Garcinia cambogia, Mums Masala, Soma Salt, Ascorbic acid, Organic Olive oil.

TAMARIND AMLA PRESERVE: tamarind, lime, corriander, cumin, turmeric, black pepper, pink pepper, black pepper, curry leaf, fenugreek, fennel, green cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, clove, mace, all spice, kalunji, pectin, saffron, Black cardamom, raw sugar.

ROSE PETAL PRESERVE: rose petals, ascorbic acid, organic sugar, rose essence and water.
