Turmeric (haridra in Sanskrit) is described by the Ayurvedic texts to be krimighni (reducing growth of bacteria) and asrapaha (cleaning blood by detoxifying liver).
Turmeric should be cooked with vegetables or lentils, not taken raw. It should be used in moderation and cut back if you show signs of detox crisis: diarrhea, skin rash, etc.

I'm using turmeric as medicine and finding this product to be of good quality and very effective. My only complaint would be the shipping charges, which were nearly as much as the product.
