Nutmeg (jatiphalam in Sanskrit) is described in Raj Nighantu as kashaya (astringent), ushna (heating), vatatisaraghnam (reducing diarrhea caused by imbalanced vata), vrishyam (increasing the quantity of all the dhatus).

Add one pinch of nutmeg to your one or two liters of herbal tea mixuture given to you by your Shaka Vansya Ayurveda practitioner and sip throughout the day.
